Age; Fourteen Years
Gender; Female-- As far as anyone can tell
Race; Well, as of now, Kestrel is a human. She has no idea of what she really is. She probably will never know, as she is blind.
APPEARANCE;
Eyes; Kessie's eyes are perhaps the most unique part of her body. Although yes, she is blind, her eyes do not give any indication to the fact. They are a clear, bright, and intense shade of green, akin to perhaps the color of palm fronds, or maybe even the scales of a great exotic snake. When in certain lighting, her eyes dance and sparkle, creating the illusion that they have a mind and feelings of their own. Although they may be very lucid, if you look closely, you'll see a little splash of a lighter (sometimes deeper) and cloudier green. No one is ever likely to get that close to Kestrel to be able to notice those details, but some might notice--the majority does not.
Hair; Although her eyes may be remarkable, her hair is quite a different story. It's a tangly mess of reddish-brown frizz, and it, not very obviously, would lay in nice little ringlets if correctly cared for. Again, if it were looked after more than just nonchalantly, the thin locks might be shinier, more dazzling, there might even be a shimmery gold tint. Of course, Kestrel doesn't care about her appearance much--anyway, it is a trifle difficult to pay close attention to how you look when you're blind, is it not?
Body; Kestrel lives solely by her own rules, and usually, she enjoys climbing trees an running around--what else can you do when you're bored? So when you look at her, your first impression might e that this poor little girl got in a nasty fight with a large bramble bush. What else could all the little hairpin cuts and scratched, the tangled branches in her hair indicate? Aside from your first impression of her rough appearance, one would also be inclined to notice how small she is. Yes, Kestrel isn't exactly old, but she is very small. She doesn't have much of a womanly form just yet, but the soft, smooth, curvy appearance of her skin as it is now isn't all too bad. Make no mistake, however, she has sone hard, wiry muscles under her skin. You would do well not to try her strength.
Style; Kestrel isn't very choosy when it comes to the style of her dress. She has very little clothing, after all, and most of it is torn up by her tree climbing an her used-to-be constant tumbles. She has gotten better with her blindness, and now she doesn't fall and scuff up her clothing quite as much. Usually you'll see her in a dress, a sort of Native American type of clothing (skimpier, though)--mostly feathers in her hair, a top made out of strings of beads, a sort of thong-ish thing made out of beads, as well. Sometimes, though, she doesn't care to wear anything--it doesn't really matter, does it?
PERSONALITY;
Likes; - Sunrises - Colors - Having memories of being able to see - Serenity - Fire - Warmth - The sun - The moon - Water - Trees - Earth - Pine needles - Beads - Birds - feathers - Leather - Cotton - Photographs - When dust dances in beams of light - The way it smells after it rains - Rain - Snow-Music
Dislikes; - Being blind - Wind - Cats - Dogs - Animals with teeth - Being lost - Winter - Cold - Darkness - Forgetting - Her history - The amount of things she doesn't know - Other people - Being stared at (yes, she can tell)
Strengths; - The fact that she can still somewhat see, despite the fact she is 'legally' blind - Her willingness to live; If she had not decided to go on with life, she could have been dead by now - Her agility and the common sense she has managed to retain, even after being blinded - Her enhanced senses (You get your senses enhanced, if you're blind!)
Weaknesses; - Is not very reliable on her feet, being that she can't see any big rocks or dips or cliffs--although if she has been to a place before, usually she has a map in her head - Obviously, her blindness. Nuff said on that topic, right? :3 - Is very unwilling to trust, at the beginning--she usually looked to the eyes of people to tell if they were trustworthy, and since now she's blind, she has a hard time trusting people - Kestrel is pretty much reclusive--she doesn't like hanging out around people, because they all share something common that she no longer has; in a way, she hates being the odd one out
Overall Personality; Kestrel is quiet and reserved when approached by new people, as if she is wary of them. She isn’t wary of much, though, and she is usually just spending time evaluating you when you first meet her. If she deems you of interest, she will speak; if not, you’ll probably have to wait a while before she tries to probe into your personality again.
Kestrel is confident and strong. She knows what she stands for and will stand for it at all costs. She is not a believer in quitting. You do not quit when you lose, you only lose when you quit. She’s very competitive, and although it might be hard for her with her lack of sight, she is a fighter and she is very capable, no matter what it may seem like.
Kestrel is a very emotional person. Since she can’t see anything at all, she is forced to see things through emotions. She is very good at reading emotions and silences, and just by the way someone speaks she can tell how they’re feeling. Sometimes, if she's distressed enough, her vision will clear slightly, and she can see just a tiny bit better than she normally can. She doesn't even know if that's how it works, because it has only happened a few times. It may be nothing, but she swears her vision has changed a bit at times.
